First start in consultation 2011

Key element in the Prince2 course will be the Prince2 process model. Delegates will be shown how the model is setup, how the different project activities and project roles are linked together and how Prince2 deals with exceptions that imminent to occur in any kind of project. During the Prince2 course delegates will learn how to set up a project management organization that is responsible for managing and planning the project. Delegates will be taught how to define the different project management roles to guarantee that the project is run in a most effective and efficient way. The method of ‘management by exception’ will play a crucial role in handling project issues.

The Prince2 Practitioner course consists of the 3 day Prince Practitioner Preparation Exam training course + the official Prince2 Practitioner exam on day 4 (the exam will take 3 hours). Delegates who want to take the official Prince2 Practitioner exam will have to have passed for the Prince2 Foundation exam.

An experienced Prince2 trainer of Promista will instruct the training course. The course consists of a mix of theory and practical exercises. Most of the exercises will be done in small groups. The training materials are very complete. Every delegate receives the official Prince2 Managing Successful Projects manual, and a manual with exercises. We expect the delegates already have the PRINCE2 foundation materials.

Course schedule (short introduction)

Objectives
This training course is aimed at learning, understanding and using the Prince2 method in a real-life project environment. The training course is also aimed at giving delegates an understanding of the philosophy behind the Prince2 method and is aimed at preparing delegates for the official Prince2 Practitioner exam.

Prework
Delegates already have a pre-course Foundation preparation manual, a Foundation course manual, a CD ROM with cases. The Practitioner course manual and OGC manual “managing successful projects” will be send 4 weeks before the start of the training course. We expect the delegates have studied the theory of PRINCE2 in the foundation manual and the OGC manual. Before starting the PRINCE2 practitioner course the delegates understand the processes, techniques and components.

Methods
Lecture and class participation. Delegates will practise with multiple choice questions and cases necessary for the Prince2 Practitioner exam.

Audience
This course is suitable for delegates who are involved in managing one or more projects. The maximum number of participants you can have in one session will be 12 delegates. For participating the PRINCE2 practitioner exam the delegates must have passed for the PRINCE2 foundation exam

Language

The training will be given in English by a excellent English speaker.

Day 1

On day 1 we start by introducing ourselves and refresh the PRINCE2 theory and practice with some exercises in small groups.

Day 2

On day 2 we continue practising with cases and preparing our selves for the Practitioner MC exam. In the evening the delegates are expected to the study the PRINCE2 practitioner test exam

Day 3

Discussion about the PRINCE2 test exam and practising with cases.

Day 4

PRINCE2 Pracitioner exam.

The Prince2 Practitioner exam will take 3 hours. The exam will consist of MC questions, about 9 main subjects.
